PayPal accepts:

There is no need to open a PayPal account. Just use your credit card or pay by check through PayPal. The latter is an electronic funds transfer that withdraws money directly from your bank account. It's just like writing a check, only it is done electronically, so it is called an eCheck.

Available in three formats:

A FREE e-book (downloaded)

An e-book on CD

A printed book

True Emergency Room Stories cover

250 pages
Approximately 87,000 words
File size:  2.52 MB

An e-book in the universal Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format that will display on any computer.  If you don't have the free reader software, you can download it from Adobe's web site.

Please note:  If you download the free e-book version, you can print it if you wish, because I did not disable printing (as many authors/publishers do).  You can print the book yourself, or copy the file onto a CD and take it to Staples, OfficeMax, similar office supply stores, or copy/printing shops. You can print one copy for yourself, but no more. In other words, you cannot start your own little publishing empire by printing my books (which some people would love to do, considering that USED copies of my book have sold for as much as $80 on Amazon).

A bit of trivia
This is the book that led to me being offered a date with NBC's Katie Couric.  If you want to find out how that unlikely event came about, you can read about it here.

More trivia
One woman ordered a couple hundred copies of the book from Amazon.com to give to her clients last Christmas (she evidently liked the book!).  I could not fill that order because my inventory was depleted, but I truly appreciated the vote of confidence in my work.  If you are that woman, please contact me because I'd like to offer you a free copy of all my current and future books.

Even ER doctors read this book
One ER doctor purchased eight copies to give to his colleagues at Christmastime.

Currently out of print.  This book was once readily available and sold like hotcakes through Amazon.com (in that venue, it outsold one of Michael Crichton's books), but I've been so busy over the past year that I haven't had time to reprint it.  I will eventually reprint it and once again offer it via Amazon.com and other booksellers.

USED copies are available on Amazon.com.  Lately, they're selling for almost $80 per copy.  Thus, previously buying this book would have been a good investment!

Note: The used copies being sold on Amazon (and elsewhere) are of the out-of-print first edition. You can download a revised and expanded edition from me (gaze two columns over to your left) for FREE. If you want a printed copy of this updated edition, you can get that from me only. If you want one, contact me and make me an offer (if you do that, bear in mind that printing and binding individual books is horrendously inefficient; it takes about two hours to make one book).
